for Theo J. Krantz

  1. Email someone whose work you love, offering them:
    a. Some cash
    b. A clear contract/set of expectations
    c. Your passion for their work

  2. If you dislike a part of the person’s work, say why and then ask them to change or delete it. If you feel like something is missing from the person’s work, say why and then ask them to add it.

  3. Ask the person what they want their thing to look/sound/feel like, then design the thing so that it makes you both happy and stands out from other things.

  4. Sell the thing on your website and keep track of how much money it makes, or give it to people for free.

  5. Be honest with your customers and your artists/authors/musicians. Turn down asshole customers’ business. Pay people on time. If you have questions about publishing, email other publishers.

Congratulations: you’re a good publisher.
